Sweetest Chant- $150.000 Purse
GP- For Fillies Three Years Old
One Mile and One Sixteenth on the Turf
February 1, 2025
The way they were entered into the gate is the way that they would finish in the Sweetest Chant, as the six horses finished in perfect number order. That’s great news for Ruths House, as the TwinTowersRacing filly hit it out of the park to won by a length with a wire-to-wire performance. This was not much of a surprise, as she was the post time favorite, and our second choice in the race. It’s the first Sweetest Chant victory both TwinTowersRacing, and the jockey, R M Hernandez. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:40.27, not one of the quicker times, but all that was needed. Let’s take a look at it now:
(1/4 Mile- :23.65)- Our eventual winner, Ruths House, goes right to the front, but she has some company, as the Mb Stables- trained Fierce Competitor is right to her outside. It’s another length to Haukea (High Voltage), and two more to United Knightley (Saratoga Stud). The two trailers are Lightning Blackout (Red Fox Farms) and Mean Girl (D J C Racing Stables). If those two were reversed, it would be 1-2-3-4-5-6 at the start as well as at the finish.
(½ Mile- :47.18)- As the race moves along, we see some separation within the field, but not at the front. Ruths House and Fierce Competitor are still showing the way, and they inch away a little from the third place Haukea. Behind that one, we see quite a gap developing to United Knightley, as that one is six lengths from the front. Lightning Blackout and Mean Girl still trail.
(Top of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Working our way around the turn, Ruths House and Fierce Competitor are still going out at it up front with no one else emerging as a threat to them. Entering the stretch, we begin to see Ruths House prevailing over Fierce Competitor, as well. Haukea hasn’t lost any more ground to them, but has not made any progress, either. There’s still at least a 3-4 length gap to the remaining three.
(Finish- 1:40.27)- In the stretch, Ruths House would not be threatened any further and would go on for about as comfortable of a length victory as you will see. Fierce Competitor remained nearby, but never mounted a challenge, not did Haukea despite going wide. None of the others were a factor, as United Knightley tops Mean Girl and the disappointing Lightning Blackout.
About The Winner- Ruths House, trained by TwinTowersRacing and ridden to victory by R M Hernandez, is a three-year-old filly by Bronx Bomber and is out of Therapy. She was bred in Kentucky as a yearling by her trainer and they have been together throughout! Congratulations to the connections! The win is her third in seven starts and second stake win. Her career earnings are now $267.000.
