As you would expect with a field of four, the entrants were bunched together most of the mile. What you wouldn’t expect is for the heavy odds-on favorite to be outrun by a 12-1 longshot. But when Neon Moon made her move on the outside down the stretch, Toothless matched strides on the rail and pulled ahead of the favorite to win by a length. The seven-year-old mare showed she’s still got what it takes to compete with the youngsters.
