Made it four from four and there is no other player here at HRP that deserves a horse like this as this home bred goes into the new year as one of the top juveniles. He didn’t have the best of starts but with the off track there were a few on pace instructions that went far too hard in the conditions, and he always looked to be going well despite being in the back half of the field. As they hit the stretch it was all on and he found plenty to hold on by a half-length and maintain a very impressive unbeaten record. These first two look outstanding prospects and I am sure the owner will be looking forward to the TC chase next year.

2nd Jurassic Park Smokey Stover Centeno D E
Went back from the wide draw and was saved for the late effort which very nearly paid off. This was a valiant effort for a horse with just one run under his belt and he looks perfect for the Derby trips in his near future. His running style from two wide draws has been as a closer so it will be interesting when he gets a lower draw to see if he can get a bit closer early on as it is hard to win consistently as a come from behind type. These top two look to me to be real Derby contenders in the making.

3rd Numbskull Blazin D Pennington F

A stakes winner on turf and stakes placed on dirt say a lot about this one’s ability. He certainly earned his chance in the TC qualification chase for next year and it is lovely to see a top four that were all bred and trained by the players.

4th Off Stage Asgar Beschizza A

Went up on speed from the wide draw but the pace for an off track was pretty fast and as expected he wilted down the stretch. This was a decent effort from a bad draw and there looks plenty more to come.
