Three Year Olds Fillies
A field of ten three year old fillies will be going to the starting gate for this year’s running of the grade three Honeybee over the Oaklawn Park surface. They will all be trying to earn a spot in the gate for the Kentucky Oaks in May. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Wild Again (6-1-1-0 $56.600), trained by Aer Stables
First up in the field here and she is coming into this race off of a pretty bad tenth in the Silverbulletday at Fair Grounds. She did not like the mud at all that day and ran her worst ever race. She seems to like to close from far back so she will need a quick pace to run at.
2. Rabbit For A Cause (6-2-0-1 $163.660), trained by Jive Inc.
Next one in the field here and she is a graded stakes winner in her career. She ran terrible in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies but bounced back and ran a good fourth in the Forward Gal. She cam handle this distance and I think she is heading the right direction to run a good race here.
3. Always Wendy (5-4-0-0 $84.940), trained by Mb Stables
First of two for Mb Stables here and she is coming I to this race off of another win. She has only been beaten once in her career so far and that was her only start around two turns so that is very concerning. The distance is a huge question mark for her but she loves to win.
4. Abathar Muzania (5-1-1-1 $28.360), trained by Nolespan Racing
This filly here will be making her first start for her new trainer Nolespan Racing after her claimed her out of her last start for twenty dollars. This is an awfully aggressive spot to go for but the trainer has made some upsets in big races. She will have to run lights out to win.
5. Bite The Bullet (7-3-2-1 $389.800), trained by Mb Stables
Second of the two runner for Mb Stables and this could be his better entry in here. She was just a good third in the Las Virgenes in her last start and she ran very good that day. If she can improve off of that race she will definitely have to get the win in here.
6. Dorilinda (7-1-2-2 $103.040), trained by M.a.r. Racing
Next filly in the field here is going to be entering this race off of a second in the Martha Washington which was right over this same track. She ran very well that day switching from the dirt to the turf and she should improve off of it. She will have to run huge to win though.
7. Sunlite (7-2-1-2 $130.680), trained by Rampage Stable
Up next in the field to take a look at here is this filly and she will be coming into this race off of a seventh place finish in the Forward Gal at Gulfstream. She was only beaten a length that day but she did not hit the board. She will have to step it up big time in here.
8. Mad Mistress (7-3-1-2 $550.500), trained by Jokerjoes
Another graded stakes winner in the field and also she was third in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies last year. She has ran with best and has competed well against them and she looks awfully tough in here. She looks like she could be the one to beat.
9. Drink Me Pretty (7-3-3-1 $625.080), trained by Estero Farms
Now onto the runner up in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies right here and has been knocking on the door in her last three graded stakes races with two seconds and a third. She ran very well in her last start and was only beaten a nose but I think she could win this for sure.
10. Best Tactic (5-3-0-0 $126.400), trained by Delta Farms
Last runner that has stayed in the field and she is coming into this race off of a fourth in the Golden Rod. She ran good that day but she is facing a pretty big layoff in here. If she has improved any since her two year old season she could have a shot but this is a very tough post.
11. Latte Lady (7-4-2-0 $127.440), trained by Mb Stables
Scratched
Summary
A very good field has been entered up here for the Honeybee with two of the top three finishers in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies showing up. They look the top two in here and they should both run well. Good luck to all in the field.
