It has been a while coming but finally, we saw what this filly can do with a strong win here albeit by only a quarter length. The trainer bought this filly for $1200.000 as a two-year-old and has had to wait 12 races for her to win a stakes race but their patience paid off and just maybe this will have done enough to trigger a more regular return to the winner’s circle for her.

Well, I have to admit I thought this filly could only win with rain, but she finished as strongly as the winner and nearly pulled off the win on a very dry track. Looking at her form figures this year she really does a great job at reflecting HRP as it has been all season, one day you are winning a stakes race, the next a five length no show, but if you keep on trying you can get some good results. She is hit and miss but when she hits, she is very good.

Seemed to get the perfect trip and when she led at the furlong pole, I thought she was going to win but her legs gave out inside the final furlong, and she had to settle for third. She may have just used too much of herself early and mid-race, but this was a solid run, and she is clearly in the right grade to get another black type win soon.

You have to feel for this one as not only did she have to cope with the three-year-old weight allowance she also got taken so far back that most people forgot she was in the race for most of it. In the end she did remarkably well to be beaten less than a length and I suspect she will be the type that really comes to the fore as a five-year-old.
