GP Race #14 1 1/8m Dirt Stake
Purse $200.000 For Three Year Olds And Upward. Additional Requirements: Have started for a claiming price of $35.00 or less since 1/1/2015.
1 Jellicoe, trained by Allinthegate
A nicely bred three year old he has changed hands three times in a few months. He has promised plenty in the past running consistently in overnights but was found wanting a little when he tackled black type company in the Canadian Derby. Although a distant fourth in that grade three he was close up for a long way and does warrant some respect over this shorter trip. If he gets to the lead from this gate he may be hard to peg back.
2 Indy Harmony, trained by Mb Stables
Won three in a row after being bought for $75.000 by the champion trainer but disappointed a little in the Durham Cup Stakes last time out. He kept on to be third and although beaten a long way that is pretty good form for a race like this. You have to take anything from this stable seriously and this is no exception and could easily get back to winning ways today.
3 Foggy Shores, trained by Hambletonian Stables
This four year old has had a good season but has been contesting a lower grade than he faces today. He is sure to be running on at the end but i dont think he has the raw talent to win this.
4 Lucky Sexxyflex, trained by Downwind Stables
claimed when winning a decent race at SAR e is another that changed hands three times in a few months before settling with his current owner. He has been beaten a fair way in his last two starts but they were both in black type company and his third in the OK Derby wasnt a bad effort from a wide gate. He is working well enough to make his presence felt.
5 Dynamic Drive, trained by Hambletonian Stable
The second entry from this stable he seems a better chance having won three of hs last four. he was up on the pace in a competitive race over this trip last time and kept on well for second so should give a good account of himself.
6 Humble Glory, trained by Angelos Stable
Another that has changed hands a few time he has also won three of his last four and only missed out by a head last time to make it four in a row. A consistent and lightly raced four year old he may just be the type to win this.
7 Taylors Eagle, trained by Maxmillion Farm
The most accomplished horse in the field he ran good thirds in the Excelsior and Californian Stakes before becoming another that got bought and sold a few times. He added The Alydar Stakes before his current trainer bought him and that win throws him in here with a penalty. Without the extra weight he wins, with it he mat find it tough going.
8 American Horror, trained by Night Rider Stables
Has been doing pretty well on the state bred circuit getting a couple of placings at ungraded level. Not without a chance but i am not convinced he stays this trip and as he hasnt had a win all season a place may be his best hope.
9 Dancing Officer, trained by Hambletonian Stable
Won a maiden claimer back in May but didnt fire in two small races after that finishing second and fourth. He won the WV Breeders by a pretty easy two lengths last time out though proving once again the fine line in class grades here at HRP. On face value that win looks great form for this race and he represents Hambletonians best chance of a win in this.
SUMMARY.
Dancing Officer won nicely last time out and has a great chance today but the wide draw scares me a little bit. If he doesnt get a trip then it may be between the rest of them to fight out a close finish with possibly Indy Harmony coming out on top.
