Interesting Group Set for San Pasqual Stakes

It’s a SoCal Saturday at the Great Race Place, and we look at the field for the San Pasqual Stakes (GII), a mile and an eighth test for the older gents, over the main SA oval.  I landed on At The Gates for this one… the Mb Stables trailed gelding had three wins last season, and certainly looked good when closing out his ’23 campaign with a win at DMR, at today’s distance, in the Native Diver (GIII).  Quick time and may have beaten a better group than this… either way, he’s my top pick.  I put Riggins Racing’s Lets Celebrate in the second spot, that one picking up five wins last season, including back-to-back GI wins, and was second in the San Antonio (GII), over this surface, to close out his very successful season.  It’s a nice group of horseflesh and could end up any number of ways… grab a cold-snack and let’s get down to the rail.
