Is Mamzelle a Two Horse Race in Disguise?

The big weekend is over, the TV crews and hats are gone, but the big summer meet at CD moves on with a field of seven sophomore sod sprint specialists going five and a half furlongs in the Mamzelle.  It’s an interesting group that is lightly raced, 10 being the highest number of starts for any of these.  Let’s go to the rail and give Kuul Off the edge, fresh off of that Giants Causeway (GIII) win at KEE.  He has three wins from seven starts, including an Alw win at FG, so he does seem to stand out off of the graded victory.  When Doves Cry also won at KEE, taking the Limestone on soggy sod, and is another with three wins from just six starts, and over his last four trips to the gate.  He also won an Alw race at FG, so these two look very evenly matched, which should make for a heck of a race.
