5 The Louisville (GIII)
$250.000 4yo&Up 11/2 Mile Turf 122lbs
The CD lawn is the place, a mile and a half is the distance and we get a six pack of marathon males set for The Louisville (GIII). I was lucky enough to win this race two years ago… and we know how rare me and graded stakes wins are. I’m probably going to be a bit chalky in my picks, but I’ll look at the rematch from the Elkhorn (GII) at KEE for my selections… American Generals won that, and I look for the same here today. He loved the distance and as an eleven-time winner, he certainly knows his way to the Kodak booth. He’s super sharp and I don’t see him getting headed today. Kidding was second in that race, and as much as he has a chance to turn the tables, and he does, I still see him as the second-best option in this one. Could someone upset the applecart, it’s always a possibility, but I’ll be surprised if they do… I think this is a two-horse affair.
