Honey, That Was So Beautiful Winning Bessarabian Stakes

Bessarabian Stakes (Grade 3)- $150.000 Purse
WO- For Fillies and Mares Three Years Old and Upward
Seven Furlongs on the Dirt
November 8, 2025

Coming into the Bessarabian Stakes, So Beautiful won (in a dead heat) in her stake debut, the Grade 3 Chillingworth while earning a 100 SRF in the process. Adding a little distance from that race seemed like something that would only benefit her more. She would pick up right where she left off, going to win by a length but this time not needing to share the winner’s circle. So Beautiful was our pick to win, and the race finished in the exact order as was predicted in the preview. This filly is trained by Jediminds Stable, who wins this stake for the first time. P Husbands is the winning rider, and it’s his third such win. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:21.87, a middle of the road such time for this race. Here’s a look at it!

(1/4 Mile- :22.78)- While no one surged out to the race lead, it would be Honey taking control early on for Martyparty, clearing three of her rivals by a length. Dusty Heart is one of the three that will stalk the leader, doing so on the rail for SamIam. Memphis Reins runs between horses for Williams9, while The Sidley Stud’s Whoop Whoop runs on the outside. The only one not near the leader here is our eventual winner from Jediminds Stable, So Beautiful. She is not one bit concerned with what is going on in front of her and is five lengths behind.

(½ Mile- :46.15)- Moving down the backstretch, we see little changing with the field. Honey is still out in front, clear by a length, with three running behind her. Whoop Whoop is second on the outside, then Memphis Reins and Dusty Heart. At the back of the field, P Husbands is not concerned at all and keep So Beautiful at the back of the field, still with a five-length deficit to the leader.

(Top of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Honey is still out in front while rounding the turn and holds her advantage entering the stretch. Whoop Whoop has been able to put both Memphis Reins and Dusty Heart away during the turn and looks to close in on Honey. However, closing in is exactly what So Beautiful was doing. She’s still at the back of the field, but has a clear lane in front of her, full of run.

(Finish- 1:21.87)- With a furlong to go, Honey was looking good in regard to holding off Whoop Whoop, but a familiar face was coming in the form of So Beautiful. These two had just finished in a dead heat with one another at six and a half furlongs in the Chillingworth Stakes, and I did feel like this race being half a furlong more would give So Beautiful the edge. That’s exactly how this would play out in the stretch, as So Beautiful continued to close in on Honey, and in the final half furlong of the race, she would pass her and cruise on by, winning by a length. It is Honey second, with Whoop Whoop taking third. Memphis Reins beats Dusty Heart for the fourth-place check.

About The Winner- So Beautiful, trained by Jediminds Stable and ridden to victory by P Husbands, is a three-year-old filly by Commanding The Storm and is out of Aska Beauty. She was bred by Jediminds Stable in California as a third quarter two-year-old, the only trainer for which she has ever known. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her fourth in eight starts, and her second stake win, each of which are graded. Her career earnings are now $202.760.
