A winner on debut at SA she has been a bit of an enigma since running some disappointing races but also a very nice win in the Muskoka so it is hard to know which filly will turn up today. She gets the ace draw which will be useful but also a penalty for that stakes win which off sets that. A lot depends on what mood she’s in but if anyone can get her in the right one its Mb Stables.
2 Carmadge Oquinn Farm Contreras L
Although it was only a 5 runner CT maiden she was very impressive in only her second start when winning by three lengths over this trip. She gets the perfect draw here and is working strongly suggesting she is up to this sort of race.
3 La Belle Province Mo Mentum Farm Gallardo A A
Another winner on debut she did pretty well in her second start in a good WO allowance when drawn wide and on the pace ending up third beaten less than a length. Works say she can live with these and with a better draw today she should be competitive.
4 Mayflower Crocker Ggs Stein J
Two wins in a row says she is ready to step up in grade. She beat home La Belle Province last time in a WO Allowance and there is no reason she can’t do that again today. In a closely matched field she would have a decent chance.
5 Sass Arindel Ryan S
It is funny how everyone complains how horses can’t win on debut at HRP at yet three of these seven runners all managed to do just that. This is one of them but she hasn’t managed to win again in three starts since. She hasn’t run badly but has just been a bit lack lustre since so will have to step up to win today.
6 Miss Daisy Oquinn Farm Wilson E J
Game winner of an FE maiden last time, her works says she can be competitive but the form just isn’t there yet.
7 Sin City Preformer Onlineracingclub.com Husbands P
Got her maiden win at the fourth attempt last time out and did it pretty gamely. The draw hasn’t been kind so she will have to rely on some luck and kindness form the race engine to back up that win.
SUMMARY
On works this lot will finish in a heap which lets face it wouldn’t be unusual these days. Carmadge may be at fair odds here and may prove the value bet and May flower won nicely last time and is on a roll. If the best Take Pride Princess turns up she will take some beating even with a penalty.
