I love the fact that this horse is in training because she gives such great one liners should she compete in a race where we see an actual rabbit. Despite the amusing name she was a brilliant winner last time proving she is a very serious race horse and with a draw that will allow her to settle where she wants i can see her running very well. The works are improving nicely and she loved the mile last time so she must go on a very long short list for this race.
2 Watheerah Team 7 Illusions Bridgmohan
Claimed from her maiden win last time she has since worked a rather encouraging 1.37 and 2 for the mile since and gets the perfect draw to win again today. The trainer will be aware of an Mb rabbit possibility and has them all outside her so will be ready to take advantage of others tactics.
3 Blonde Bomber Smokey Stover Geroux F
Bought for $200.000 from Joshua Stables after a narrow maiden win it is clear the daughter of Niagra has improved from that because she has since laid down a 1.37 and 1 mile work. The draw is great, the breeding perfect now all she has to do is win.
4 Golden Niagra Williams9 Smith M E
Another daughter of Niagra she has been busy running six races so far and has done pretty well. Sandwiched between a maiden and optional claimer win was a ninth in the Schuylerville but that run was better than it looked as she got back and made up plenty of ground. She will stay the trip and will be a popular winner for the jovial trainer.
5 Stuck In My Ways Mb Stables Hernandez R
The best drawn of the Mb Stables trio she proved this trip holds no fears when making all to easily win her maiden last time over a mile. Her works are strong and i guess its just which of the three her trainer gives the best chance to as to whether she can win. I think she will be sent to the lead again but i cant see her running a rabbit pace ad if she is given a chance then she has one.
6 Smart Cash Fractious Contreras L
A nice sort but so far hasnt looked like she has the X Factor. The trainer will be looking for improvement over the trip today but its hard to give her a winning chance on what we can see.
7 Never Forgotten D J C Racing Stables Gaffalione
The trainer proved last year that they can turn out gritty early types with a touch of class and this looks like another one. A good maiden win was followed by a strong finishing nose second in the Debutante but it was in her last start that she signaled that she could be another BC runner for the stable. Drawn wide and taken a fair way back she flew home to win the Adirondack in very good style recording what is probably the best win by any juvenile in this field. The mile work is iffy but that matter less with juveniles so i am sticking with this one as the top of my list.
8 Best Tactic Delta Farms Talamo J
Never knock an unbeaten record and this one is two from two. Strong works, nice form and a trip she can step up into she may just be an overlooked winning chance for this race.
9 Local Lass D J C Racing Stables Arroyo N
Another competitive runner from the stable he was two lengths behind Risen Day in his last start and i must admit it is hard to see how he can turn that round today.
10 Risen Day Fractious Desormeaux
Looked very strong when winning the Fisher Debutante last time and has worked very strongly since. The biggest barrier to his success here however was that that good win from from the perfect two box and today he runs from the ten box. We have seen before that the draw can give us huge swings in form and performance so he will have to have improved again to win this.
11 Freaking Me Out Mb Stables Prat F
Looked like this trip would be right up her alley when flying home to win very easily over seven furlongs last time in a faster time than Risen Day won her stakes race in the last start. I am thinking a rabbit will allow her the best chance of winning and i guess the question will be whether Mb employs one or someone else does. With a rabbit i would be confident of the win, without it she just goes into the heap of possibles.
12 Chaotic Bliss Mb Stables Sanchez M J
Won her maiden over a mile in good style and is another from the stable who could win if things go her way. Her works are great but this draw will need some assistance from somewhere.
SUMMARY
A typically close HRP juvenile race with 12 of the 100’s of two year olds working these times running against each other. The big leveler tends to be the trip and there are a couple here that look more suited than others. The other thing that will change things up is if we see a rabbit which will see this race turn from a realistic sim into a Japanese game show. Take your picks, but these are mine. Never Forgotten for the win with Blonde Bomber and Freaking Me Out chasing her home.
