1 Grand Dragonville Smokey Stover McMahon C J
The stables two year olds are on fire at the moment so this unbeaten filly must carry full respect. An easy maiden win was followed by a game allowance win both over trips probably short of this daughter of Grandeur’s best distance. Her recent mile work was as sharp as a tack and from this ideal alley she will have a major winning chance in a race where many are compromised by jockey allocation.
2 What It Was Mb Stables Leparoux J R
Took her debut at GG by making all over five furlongs and comes from a more experimental line than we are used to from Mb Stables. She is still small although beautifully conformed but there isnt really enough to go on to be confident of her chances at this level. Being from Mb Stables she gets a great Jockey allocation and draw so in a race that is sure to be roughly run she must be taken seriously.
3 Deceptive Tactics Nakamura Stables Borel C H
Two wins in a row and some strong works i would normally be looking very closely at this filly especially with a perfect draw to race from. However she managed to secure CH Borel in the jockey lottery and with 56 rides with no wins and a fall to 8% she would have to be five lengths better than everything else in this field to win.
4 Artificial Mb Stables Hernandez B J Jr
This filly has raced all 4 of her starts on the dirt but did well enough to be a real danger in her first race on the grass. She closed nicely in the Spinaway to be third beaten just a half length but was a bit disappointing last time out when a one paced fifth in the FL Sire Stakes. That run probably prompted this switch in surface and a recent work suggests she may be the best of the stable hopes.
5 Flying Nun D J C Racing Stables Murrill M
Two good wins from her first two efforts, one of which was on turf prompted her trainer to go for some black type in The Gimma. She was a bit lack lustre in that race running fourth without troubling the winner and switches back to turf today after a decent mile work saw her run 1.36 flat. She has drawn a 9% jockey which wont help her much and she will have to be pretty good to do it with this rider on board.
6 Peppermint Peace Blazin D Gazader R
Won her maiden over this trip and then ran a solid second in the La Senorita Stakes but sadly for her connections has been given a 7% jockey with a 2 Y O riding weakness and no wins this year so unless there is a miracle she wont be winning today.
7 Cest And Me D J C Racing Stables Court J K
This stable seems to have a few juveniles that really have a big heart and this one looks to be in the same mould. Any easy maiden winner in her first turf route she then took on black type company in the OT Juvenile Fillies Turf and showed all sorts of guts to make all from a wide draw and fight on to share the win in a blanket finish. There arent many races where the front runners fight so much and that is a real feather in her cap, she comes here with a fast mile work, a 10% jockey and a real chance of winning.
9 Techno Mummy The Sidley Stud Green A
Took a while to break maidens but did so when taken to the turf for the first time and did it nicely over seven furlongs. she then met soft ground in her next two starts but did well to run second in a small stakes race and then win a competitive allowance at BEL. She would have a very good chance but faces a tough draw and gets a 7% jockey in the lottery so she would have to be a super filly to win this.
10 Domineering Team 7 Illusions Bridgmohan S X
She has yet to run on turf but has a decent record on dirt so must be respected. After winning her maiden she took the FL Sire Stakes – Susan but then ran very poorly in the FL Sire Stakes – My Dear finishing a well beaten seventh. It remains a bit of a mystery as to why she ran so poorly last time out and her trainer will be looking for a return to form with this switch of surface.
11 Get Up Stand Up Night Mare Racing Rocco J S Jr
Made all to win her maiden nicely over this trip but then got a wide draw and ran poorly in the Natalma when once again going on the speed. Another wide gate may see the same thing happen unless her trainer can find something to negate the wide gate speed push.
12 Summer Beauty La Canada Racehorses Landeros C
Flew late over a mile to take the ungraded Happy Ticket on soft ground last time out and looks to have really improved since taken over ground on the turf. She is working well and gets a 10% jockey so if she can overcome the wide draw she must have a very good chance.
13 Kissing The Dirt Blushing Meadows Johnson J M
The car park draw and a 7% jockey in the lottery she really does look up against it after getting in off the ballot. I like the way she has been finishing off her races and her mile work last time was very good and i would give her a serious chance of an upset win had she not ended up with Mr johnson in the saddle.
SUMMARY
It remains to be seen what effect the poor jockeys will have on this race and i would be tipping Kissing the Dirt if she hadnt drawn such a horrible rider. As it is it makes sense to go for a 10%er and of those lucky enough to get one i like Cest And Me and Grand Dragonville but this isnt a race to be putting your mortgage on.
