The United Nations Stakes – GI
MTH Race 11 1 3/8M – Turf
Purse $300.000
Three Year Olds and Up
1st Jamie Mach, trained by Gdp Inc
A first graded stakes win for this horse and definitely his first grade one win. I didn’t think there was anyone that could beat the runner up but this horse definitely proved me wrong. He ran a very good race and won very impressively. He ran the mile and three eighths in 2:11.60 and earned $180.000 for the win.
2nd Spanish Showboat, trained by Mb Stables
The horse who I thought couldn’t be beat ends up getting beat. He still ran a very game effort but he just couldn’t beat the winner in here. He might have hit the lead a little too early but he still ran a very big race regardless. I’m sure he will be back ready to roll next out and look for a win.
3rd Midwestern Slang, trained by Gdp Inc
The other horse from Gdp Inc also ran a very good race himself. He was a little farther back than his stablemate and didn’t have as much kick as him but still ran very sharp. He couldn’t get to the top pair but still held on gamely for third and earned his entry fee back so his trainer should be happy.
4th Bandito, trained by TwinTowers Racing
This horse just ended up falling too far back and didn’t have enough punch to get to the top three but he still ran a very good race to get fourth. Maybe a quicker pace would’ve helped but I really think he ran good. If he was closer up he probably wins the race but as it was he was too far back.
Summary
Now while I thought Spanish Showboat was definitely the winner in here Jamie Mach definitely proved me wrong with his performance in here. He just outran Spanish Showboat I think who finished second with his stablemate Midwestern Slang finishing third. Congrats to all who made money in here.
