The ladies will be headed to post on the MTH turf course as we take a look at the field for the 2016 Eatontown Stakes (GIII) at a mile and a sixteenth on the lush lawn here in Oceanport NJ.  I’m going to give Iron Punch top billing today even though she hasn’t won this season.  She won five of eight last year and has been on the board in all four starts this season, so I really think the chestnut is sitting on a win.

Despite being in the outside post, I’ll put Edna Krabappel in the mix here today.  She’s won a pair of races from her four starts and both of those wins came on soggy turf courses.  We may see some moisture here today with that big storm moving from the Great Lakes across the country, and she may be the lucky recipient of the precipitation.

Anagrammatic is another looking for her first win of ’16, Smokin Nebulae is still a maiden but did run third in a graded race on the WO turf, and you really should be able to throw a blanket over this bunch as they cross the wire.  It should be a good one so let’s cozy up next to the rail to take this one in.
