Closing weekend at the GREATEST place on Earth, and we look at a field of young fillies set to got six furlongs on the main oval in the Myrtlewood, here at KEE.  It’s a wide open affair, as many of the baby races are, but let’s go to the outside post and give Indian Angie the slight edge today.  Two wins and two thirds from four starts, so she’s never far behind, and made a nice late move in the Lady Finger at FL last out, facing empire-state-types.  Right next door, Shtorm is another that deserves a big look.  She broke maide at CD in her second race, then set the pace n the Debutante, over that same surface, before ending up fifth only three-quarters of a length behind the winner.  Another like that and she could be the one.

Sophomore fillies will be the name of the game for the Valley View (GIII) a flat mile stakes on the lush Lexington lawn.  I’m headed to the rail and will take Defogged as the top selection for this one.  Two wins in a row, taking down Alw types at ELP then she won the Violet at MTH, so it’s up to graded horses and I think she’s finding her best stride right now.  Undisputed is another that deserves a big look off of her never-miss-a-check form.  She won twice at CD in the spring, but has been close in the BEL Oaks (GI), Pucker Up (GIII) and Canadian.  She needs to carry it to the wire, and this could be just what she wants.  You can make a case for a number of others, so it looks to be a great race to tune into.

Youngsters get the Saturday card kicked-off as seven will be headed to the gate on the main track to go six panels in the Bowman Mill, here at KEE.   I’m looking at Down At The Half as the one to get past in this one.  He looked good when second in the Dixon Juv at PID, last out, and he head the lead late in that one, only to miss by the slightest of margins.  He has three seconds from his five starts, so let’s see if he can overcome that habit.  I’ll put Barbed Wire in the second spot… this one has never been worse that second and broke maiden last time out at SA.  Worked over this surface and looks to be any type.

The sophomores head to the lush Lexington lawn for the Stations (GIII) a flat mile stakes that seems to be a one pick race to me.  I’m taking Energizer Party as the key horse in this one as the Mb trained gelding just seems to have what it takes, to me.  He won the Rebel (GII) while on the TC Trail, but when that didn’t pan out, it was turf racing, and he has two wins and a fourth on the green stuff, including a nice win in the Secretariat (GII) at CNL.  He closed well to be fourth in the VA Derby (GIII) over that same sod, so let’s put all of our eggs in one basket and give him the bridge-jump treatment.

The boys go post-ward for the Fayette (GII) a classic mile and an eighth main track stakes that has attracted a lucky seven older gents to close out the KEE Fall Meet.  Four wins in a row is enough to get my attention, so Flip A Coin Party is my pick in this one.  He looked good running off to win by four in the Greenwood Cup (GIII)… now that was a wet track race, and we all know how those can go, but he’s sharp right now and I think he keeps the hot hand going and takes another.  Sunset Wolf hasn’t won since May, but he’s been close in a bunch of big graded races, and certainly should be on all of your tickets for this one.  He just missed in the Jockey Gold Cup (GI) then tired a bit to be third in the Woodward (GI), but that’s facing the best there is, and this should be a bit easier on him.
