The lush KEE turf course will be the backdrop for a huge race for the grass loving older fillies and mares, and the Wiley (GI) has drawn a real nice group. I took Zee Model as the top choice off of that big win at SA last out. She ran a very impressive race to get the job done in that one, and she knows how to get the job done. Another that needs to be looked at is Intanga Rose. She has been very consistent of late and those three stakes win to close out her ’20 season makes you look twice at this one. You can’t go through this group without mentioning Too Scared To Party, as this one just doesn’t run a bad race. She should be wound up for the run to the wire and should be in the thick of it.
Here’s The Field –
Four wins in her career and you don’t put almost $900.000 in the bank running in claiming races. She won the Glen Falls (GII) last fall for her only ’20 win, and her first start of ’21 was a even fifth place finish at SA… but that was at a mile and a half and probably not her best distance. Give her a chance to come back today.
Nice win at GP last out taking the Very One (GIII) and she won three races last season, so you can tell, she’s usually in the middle of things. Five wins from fifteen life time starts and another five on-the-board finishes… she’s usually in the picture.
This filly is about as solid as you can ask a horse to be… she’s won half of her fourteen lifetime starts and won half of her ten ’20 starts, all stakes wins… she knows how to get it done. She was fourth on BC Day, over this track, and will probably be the odds-on favorite today.
Got her first win of the ’21 season last out taking the Hillsboro (GII) at TAM on the soft sod. She won three races last season, so she has class and ability. She could be right in the middle of this one as well.
It’s hard to say much bad about this one… six wins, a second and a third from her thirteen starts and she took the Buena Vista (GII) at SA in her most recent. Five wins from ten starts last year so I think you get the picture, she can run and I like her a lot in this one.
She got back on the winning side of things taking an OptAlw turf sprint down at TAM in her most recent. Her prior win came over this track last fall in the Raven Run (GII) so getting back to KEE may be to her liking.
Nice win in her most recent taking the Fox (GIII) at GP in front running fashion. She had three wins last season from seven starts and took the Bewitched (GIII) over this surface, so she knows her way around this place. She loves the grass and certainly deserves serious consideration.
Six wins in ’20 including a three race win-streak to close out the season. She won over this track taking the Valley View (GIII), then won the Mrs Revere (GII) and the American Oaks (GI). Kicked-off ’21 with a runner-up effort in an Alw race at SA but probably needed that race so I expect a big effort here.
Another solid filly that had her three-race win streak snapped last out running a tiring seventh on a soggy turf course at TAM in the Hillsboro (GII). Can she bounce back from that off track outing and be a factor today?
This filly can certainly run with about any type, but has changed hands a couple of times of late. She won at first asking for the new barn and was third in the Fox (GIII) last out in an odd race where she broke sharp, dropped back then came again down the lane. If they can get her style worked out, she may be tough.
Closed out her 3yo campaign with some solid races, but her seasonal starts have left a bit to be desired. Last in the Marshuas River Stakes (GIII), then a fifth in the FOX (GIII) in her most recent. Can she get back to old ways?
