With only three lengths between the first ten and a neck between the first four this sixty bucks took a heck of a lot of winning. In the end it went to this five year old who started from the unlikely winning ten gate but showed plenty of courage to get his nostril in front at the right time. Ninth in this race last year from a similar gate he has apart from that been a hugely consistent sprinter and certainly deserved this game win.

2nd Marx On The Moon Court Jester Racing Pereira T J

Kept going right to the line and only just failed in a driving finish. This was a huge effort from the former dirt racer who proved once again how the running surface does very little to change the form here at HRP.

The great champion was pulling back the deficit inch by inch but just failed to get there. It is clear that at seven years of age he still has all of his old enthusiasm and i am sure he will be adding to his admirable record as the year moves on.

It is a pretty tough game when you get beaten a neck in a competitive sprint and end up making a $5 loss but that is the game we play and despite the financial disappointment i think the trainer would have been pleased with this tough effort.
