Killer Instinct Just Gets the Job Done in The Blame

The Blame – Grade III
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $225.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Killer Instinct Mb Stables Gaffalione T

The pace was just about right for him to stay close enough today, but he needed every yard of these nine furlongs to get the win. He seems to have misplaced the pace that saw him make all to win the Shared Belief and stalk the lead to win the OK Derby last year, but that seems to be the effect the new engine can have on some this year. Today though he got home, and one feels that he will only get better if stretched out over even further than this.

2nd G O O B A Fractious Geroux F

Looked to have a big enough lead as they hit the furlong pole but just couldn’t hold the winner in the drive to the line. This is an improving type who is running well at five and may have more improvement to come.

3rd Oleg Arindel Saez L

Well, the trainer or the AI managed to turn his deep closing efforts from his last two races into a front running effort today, but the result wasn’t too different in the end. This effort was a little better though and it may set him up for a good summer again.

4th Sunset Wolf Night Rider Stables Beschizza A

It is difficult to compare his last two efforts and his work times against other runners as they just don’t add up but let’s just say that although he picked up a great black type win last time, he may not be quite up to graded stakes company when the whips come out. Of course, he may go and win a grade one next time such are form lines at the moment.
