I guess we should be used to close finishes here at HRP but with just over a length covering all the runners and a dead heat for third it does leave a bit of a bad taste in your mouth about what our racing future looks like. Take nothing away from this game win for Martyparty though, as the homebred colt put his disappointing effort last time behind him. The two wide gates used their gate advantage to battle for the lead for the whole trip with this entire pushing away down the stretch for a good win. I don’t think there is much of an explanation for his failure in the Bongard, but this win was pretty impressive, and he may be a colt with a future.

Battled with the winner for the lead for the whole trip and as often happens it is the stalker that gives way to the leader, and he could not keep up through the last furlong. He has yet to run a bad race and certainly has plenty of speed so I would expect him to do well in sprints in the future.

3rd= Monday Knight Sim Speed Stable Davila J R Jr

Will be going for his third dead heat in a row next time as he again shared a finish in getting home for third. It was all about being on speed in this race and whilst he managed to share the win in a similar time last time out this time he had to settle for a share of third.

3rd= Burke D J C Racing Stables Worrie A S

They pretty much all stayed in the same position throughout the race with this one gaining just a little to end up sharing third.
