We continue to miss, and if there is any consolation, I don’t think a lot of people had this one.  Kaboom, Whak, Kapow, Wham… and 50/1 shots galore.  They found out what lightbulbs were burned out on the tote-board as La Canada Racehorses’ Zions Bet, sent off as the 55/1 outsider, closed from far back to nose out Moonlightonthewabash from the High Voltage stable, a mere 54/1, taking Saturdays Lewis Stakes (GIII) and the bulk of the $200.000 purse, and KYD points, in the process.  It was a neck to Riggins Racings’ Brooklyn Base in third, a length better than Mb Stables’ Highway Robber nosing out post time favorite Tube for the minor money.  The final running time was 1:34.98 for the flat mile, and the main SA oval was listed as Fast.  Only five lengths covered the field of eleven, and we had two scratches from this one.
