1 Aguichant Owner: Maxmillion Farm Garcia Mar
Comes off a Grade III win in November at AQU in the Go For Wand Handicap at a mile. Prior to that she finished second in the Grade II Chilukki stakes. Very strong 4 year old, and looks like one of the best options here.
2 Broomsticks N Botty Owner: Drabfantasy Desormeaux K J
Just missed in the 1 ⅛ mile BC Distaff Grade I to finish second by a length. Prior to that she bombed out in the 1,000.00 Cotillion Stakes Grade I. Takes a drop in class to Grade II, and I think you have to respect this 4 year old filly, who is a proven winner. Look for her to be coming late, and she will need a pace to develop in this race.
3 Team Nebraska Owner: Downwind Stables Prat F
Finished 4th in her outing in the Grade I Cigar Handicap at AQU in November. Prior to that she also finished 4th in the BC Distaff Grade I. That means she ran 2 back from Broomsticks N Booty in the BC Distaff Grade I. To me she is not as good of a choice as Broomsticks N Booty.
4 Quiet Elegance Owner: Mb Stables Blanc B
Quiet Elegance recently ran in the Grade I Spinster at KEE in October. In that race she finished sixth. Prior to that she ran in the Fleet Indian up at SAR in August and finished second. Her last win comes at SAR in an Optional Claimer. This is a big step up for her. Tough call, but could be good for your exotics.
5 Shadow Of A Doubt Owner: Maverick Racing Solis A O
Recently ran in the Falls City Handicap Grade II where she ran third. Prior to that she ran in the slop at HST Grade III Ballerina BC where she picked up a win. She certainly likes the wet as she has 3 wins in 5 starts over the wet. Three back she won an Allowance for $50.00. I think this is a step up for her, but she did run a nice third in the Grade II. Currently there is very little chance of rain, which would improve her chances.
6 The Reaper Owner: Heavens Own Talamo J
Recently acquired from previous owner Hawaiian Shirt Guy for $600.00. He debut his new purchase in an Allowance for $75.00 where she started out fourth, and finished in fourth. I would think the new owner is pretty disappointed that she didn’t get the win. Her last win was in the KY Oaks Grade I in last May. She may not have what it takes to get the job done.
Iwin picks: 2-1-5
The Tout picks: 3-2-1
Until next time this is Iwin signing off!
