3 AQU NY Stallion Series – Fifth Avenue
$500.000 2yoF 7f Dirt 120lbs
The Green Card overrides my inability to pick races as Lady Lara, owned by Night Mare Racing, closed from the back of the pack to take Saturday’s NY Stallion Series – Fifth Avenue by three quarters of a length, stopping the timer at 1:21.98 for the seven-furlong sprint, over the Fast AQU main oval. Barbra pressed the pace throughout, giving a valiant effort between horses, but could not hold off the eventual winner, taking the second spot. Jamaican Coffee pressed the pace to the far turn, took over from there, and was weak in the late stages, settling for the show position. Lil Sunshine and Boardwalk Authority dead-heated for the minor money, because what’s a race without a couple of dead-heats? Five lengths covered the field of twelve.
