Lady lara Passes The Test with Flying Colors

The Test – Grade I
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $500.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.

1st Lady Lara Night Mare Racing Geroux F

As expected, the early pace was so breakneck that even the on-pace runners had trouble keeping up which opened it up for the closers, and this one was the best of them. As predicated, the inside was left free as the horses all fanned wide and all this filly had to do was to use her great turn of foot to run up the rail and claim the win. With her running style we won’t see that happen every time but when it does it is a joy to watch. Three from three over this trip, she will be hard to beat if she gets the same sort of run in the BC.

2nd Racing Tipster Fractious Prat F

I don’t know whether it was a stable choice or the race engines, but the tactical decisions made for the stables three runners were about as good as it gets but in the end it just wasn’t enough. This filly stalked the fast pace and kept on really gamely for second and is clearly a fast improving three-year-old with a very bright future. Never out of the first three in all her six races, I think her effort here was every bit as good as the winners because it takes a very good horse to stalk a fast pace and still hold on for second.

3rd Star Sapphire Fractious Beschizza A

As the stable mate made the running at a fast pace and the other one stalked that pace this one went back for a late run. Her journey through the traffic wasn’t like Lady Lara’s however and eventually she could only grab third on the line. This was a big effort and, on another day, had something stayed on the rail and blocked the winner the trainer could be looking at a one two.

4th Double Zee TwinTowersRacing Bridgmohan S X

Was set to stalk with a whole bunch of others and she even led briefly down the stretch before running out of puff. This was a huge effort from the filly at a big starting price and though she hasn’t managed a win yet this year, it cannot be far away.
