BC Turf Sprint (Grade 1)- $1,000.000 Purse
DMR- For Three Year Olds and Upward
Five Furlongs on the Turf
November 1, 2025
It’s been a weekend to remember for Lemax Farms, as the longtime stable got not one, but two BC victories. On Friday, he watched as Britslastempire went to win the BC Juvenile Turf by two lengths, and on Saturday, it would be Brits Style winning a lot closer margin but prevailing all the same in the BC Turf Sprint. I can only imagine the jubilation that the trainer is feeling as he celebrates these victories. Congratulations to him! It goes without saying, therefore, that this is his first win in the BC Turf Sprint, and that’s also true for jockey A Fresu. The time of the race win was :56.34, which is right in line with the other winning times at DMR. Let’s take a look at it:
(1/4 Mile- :22.05)- Last Way To The Beac is out in front for Maxmillion Farm as the field heads down the backstretch. He holds a narrow lead, let’s call it a head, over second place Mosquito, from Spankys Barn. Also, with the leaders on the outside is Whoa Bo, another from Maxmillion Farm. Within a length, and with a nice gap right in front of him between Last Way To The Beac and Mosquito is our eventual winner from Lemax Farms, Brits Style. Bay Another Man is right beside him for Our Athletes, and in the fifth lane, Little Tiger runs evenly with them for Ajm Stables. Mb Stables’ Spin Zone is nearby on the rail. It’s another length to Sister Nancy (D J C Racing Stables) and Bayldonite (The Sidley Stud), who run in the middle of the field. Behind them, Inoue (Royalty Stables) and Exemplary (Mb Stables) run together, and the early trailers are Confident Elegance (Maxmillion Farm), Teterboro (Chili King Stables), and Sorcerer (Mb Stables).
(Top of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Working around the turn, Last Way To The Beac and Mosquito have a good battle out in front of the field, and that would be too much for Whoa Bo, as he drops back. As this was going, that gap that had existed for Brits Style to take advantage of during the turn would continue to be there, and gradually we saw A Fresu capitalize on the opportunity. He was now within half a length on Mosquito, and close to length on Last Way To The Beac. Bay Another Man and Spin Zone, who had been running with him, were still very much in the mix, but did not push forward further at this time. The five wide trip for Little Tiger was proving to be too tough for him. Bayldonite was still running mid-pack, and Inoue began to make an advance, pulling up to that one’s inside. It’s another length to Exemplary and Sister Nancy, and at the back we had not seen anything yet out of Confident Elegance, Teterboro, or Sorcerer.
(Finish- :56.34)- With a little under a furlong to go, Brits Style takes over the lead from Last Way To The Beac, but this one is not over yet. In the final half furlong, a surge forward from Inoue would make things very interesting at the wire. Brits Style continued to maintain a steady stride and would need every bit of it as Inoue tried to snag the win at the last second. In the end, Brits Style would have just enough to prevail in a photo at the wire with Inoue, as Last Way To The Beac gets third over Spin Zone. The rest of the final running order will read Bay Another Man, Little Tiger, Teterboro, Bayldonite, Whoa Bo, Sorcerer, Mosquito, Exemplary, Confident Elegance, and Sister Nancy.
About The Winner- Brit Style, trained by Lemax Farms and ridden to victory by A Fresu, is a four-year-old gelding by Southern Style and is out of the late Brit Farley. He was bred in Pennsylvania as a third quarter two-year-old by Lemax Farms and they have been together throughout. Congratulations to the connections! The win is his sixth in 24 starts, and his second stake win, each of which are graded. His career earnings are now $918.860.
