That was the story for The Monomoy Girl as the rains fell in Louisville and D J C Racing Stables’ Lifes Good said that mud was good, rallying from well off of the pace and holding off Mb Stables’ Soviet Shadow in the run to the wire, scoring by a half-length and stopping the timer at 1:452 for the mile and a sixteenth. It was the first win of the season for the 3yo home-bred black filly, her third overall and she now shows lifetime earnings of $203.400. Congrats to the Connections!
As mentioned, Mb Stables’ Soviet Shadow was the runner-up, closing a late gap from the inside, then three-quarters of a length to pacesetter and post-time favorite, Black Regazze, from the Nakamura Stables. It was a gap of two back to fourth, where Love Beer took the minor purse. Seven lengths covered the field of eight and there were no scratches in this event.
