Despite conceding two pounds to his five rivals, Loko Moko won his third consecutive race as he gamely held on for a neck-victory over Bloodline in the TTA Sales Futurity-Colts at LS. Interestingly, Loko Moko has now won for a different owner in all three of his races. The South Shore Stables gelding has now banked $153.000 after getting the winner’s share of the $150.000 purse.
Under pressure from the outset, Loko Moko posted a :22.54 opening quarter with Lionel G right at his throat latch. They ding-donged for the lead down the backside before Loko Moko inched away as he posted a :45.26 half-mile split. As Lionel G began his retreat through the field, Bloodline launched his bid from the four path and three lengths back.
Despite drifting out into the three or four path in the lane, Loko Moko was still a length in front of Bloodline as he posted five furlongs in :57.16. With Loko Moko well off of the rail, Far Saturn made a bold late rally along the inside. Despite their efforts, Bloodline and Far Saturn would have to settle for the place and show honors, respectively, as Loko Moko crossed the wire in 1:03.44. Express The Best was fourth and was followed home by Java Jet and Lionel G.
Congratulations to Loko Moko and South Shore Stables on their victory in the TTA Sales Futurity-Colts!
