Is there a tougher group than the lady marathon types?  I really don’t think so… it’s a deep group and every race seems to be as salty as the flats themselves.  No difference for the Santa Ana Stakes (GIII) a mile and a quarter test on the lush SA lawn.  Wow… which way do you go in this one?  Such a deep group of competent race fillies/mares… I’ll take Upon A Time as the top choice… she won four of eleven last year, was on the board in five other races and won her ’24 debut going a mile at FG.  She closed to get up by a whisker, and will relish the extra quarter mile, I do believe.  Let’s go right next door and take All By Myself as the second selection… she won two of her last three ’23 stars (her only wins of the year) and that includes her last out win in the Red Carpet (GIII) at DMR.  She’s been rested since Nov and looks to get things going in her return to the races.
