4 BEL The Just A Game (GI)
$500.000 3yo&Up F&M 1m Turf 123lbs
The weekends don’t get much bigger, here in Elmont, and we look at the field for The Just A Game (GI), a flat mile turf test for the ladies. Some very nice race-mares in this one and I landed on Inquisition as the top selection. She looked good winning the Gallorette (GIII) at PIM on PRK Day, going wire to wire in that one. I think her speed could be the difference maker today. Let’s put Toxins right in the middle of this one as well. She beat a few of these in the CDDTM (GII) on KYD Day and has been tough in all of her seasonal starts.
Here’s The Field –
1-1-1 record from her four ’23 starts, including a nice stakes score at FG. She was fifth at CD on KYD day where she gave an even but uninspiring run that afternoon. She hasn’t seen graded foes since last Oct when fourth in the Noble Damsel (GIII) at AQU. She needs her best today.
Got her first ’23 score last out taking the Wilshire (GIII) at SA… but she also had four wins last year, so this one certainly knows how to get the job done. She never seems to run a bad race and certainly deserves a big look today. She certainly a horse that I’ll be keeping an eye on.
Three seasonal wins, two at the graded level including the Endeavour BC (GIII) at TAM and the Buena Vista (GII) (DH) at SA. She is a tough tough mare and you always put her in the mix. No difference today, give her a big look when you stand in line at the windows.
Well, I’m not sure… that CD race just does not compute. She was purchased for one shinny penny, then won the Wiley at KEE in her first start for the Big Barn, but tired to be last of seven in the CDDTM (GII). Let’s call that a bounce and look for her to come back big in this one.
Back-to-back wins after than hard closing win at CD in the CDDTM (GII) where she cleared the field at 10/1 odds. I doubt that you get those today and she’s a horse that looks to be hitting on all eight cylinders right now.
Hot barn and a hot horse, as this mare knows how to put the cash in the bank. 8-12-5 from her thirty-seven starts and she’s only missed one check this season. Nice win at PIM last out, taking the Gallorette (GIII) in fine fashion. She’s back on short rest, but I think she is ready to run big.
This one is still looking for her first win of the ’23 year, but she’s always in the middle of things. She has a second and three thirds from four starts and ran well here last out when third in the Beaugay (GIII). She deserves a big look and should be a big factor.
