Lucky Seven to the Gate in FSS – In Reality

10/1/22

4    GP       The FL Sire Stakes – In Reality

$400.000   2yo                   1 1/16m  Dirt                118lbs

FL-bred freshmen males go for a big payday in the FSS In Reality, a mile and a sixteenth test over the main oval here at GP.    Many of these have been racing in the Fla-bred races, here at GP, so they are familiar with one another… for the most part.  I’m taking Velocicoaster as the top pick, off of that win in the FLSS Affirmed in his most recent.  That was his first start for this outfit and I think he keeps getting better.  As always, you cannot ignore Mb Stables in these races so let’s give Seal Of Approval the second spot.  He’s been fourth in both starts at this level, and I think he improves at today’s distance.

Here’s The Field –

1
Con Of The Kiwi    Smokey Stover    Leon S   118   9/2

He broke maiden over this surface and was fifth at WO vs stakes company, in his most recent trip to the gate.  He looks like a useful type and this is a sharp outfit, so look for him to be in the middle of things when they turn for home.

2
Money Printer Go Brr    Threshold    Fuentes M T Jr   118   10/1

Only two starts, no wins, changed hands after that last out race, but that was a fourth place finish, only beaten a length, vs. stakes company at SAR.  That looked like a tough group at the Spa, so maybe this is a spot for him to make some noise at a price.

3
Commissioner    Ace Racing Stable    Conner T   118   7/2

He’s always in the middle of things and brings home a check every time he enters the gate.  Broke maiden at CT, then was fourth in a stakes at HST before a runner-up effort (DH) and a third vs. similar to these.  He deserves a big look.

4
   Velocicoaster    Mo Mentum Farm    Baird E T   118   3/1

Five races with a 2-1-2 record tells you that this one does just about everything right.  He was sold and came back to win vs. similar at first asking, so look for him to be the one to get past today.

5
   Tempest    Arindel    Carrasco V R   118   5/1

Broke maiden here, then came back to be a tiring fifth vs. Fla-bred stakes company, so he has to hold it together a bit better to be a factor today.  No doubt, he’s eligible to do just that.

6
Web Gem    Night Rider Stables    Beato I   118   12/1

Was last of ten in his debut, was sold at the recent auction and they jump into the deep end of the pool today.  The vet did stop by for the unkindest of cuts, but he’s gotta turn it around in a big/bad way to be a factor here.

7
Seal Of Approval    Mb Stables    Sanchez M J   118   4/1

The big barn is always tough and this one broke maiden over this track before a pair of fourths vs. same, again, here in SoFla.  He was closing fast last out, so the added distance could be just what the doctor ordered.
