Macht Nichts May Have Edge in Brooklyn

The Brooklyn – Grade II
BEL   Race #4   1 1/2m   Dirt   Graded Stake
Purse $400.00  For Four Year Olds And Upward.

1 Dogs Infowarrior, trained by Grimley
If the ground stays sloppy then this one comes right into it. Without the rain and this
five year old may find it tough against a classy field. He has run well this year
finishing a close runner up in the Fort Lauderdale but after that he has been running
just behind the money albeit in some big races. The perfect draw helps but without the
rain he may be best to find a place.

2 Macht Nichts, trained by eastern equine
A fairly lightly raced four year old he has been promising a lot for a long time and
often delivers. He came back after a long break to win the Tokyo City Cup backing up
his HAW Gold Cup win at the end of 2015. He ran well in the CT Classic and then won the
PIM Special in his last start so is in tip top form and probably starts this race as
favourite.

3 Spanish Town Posse, trained by Night Rider Stables
Has been a prolific winner in lower grade and this is the four year olds big test. He
certainly loves a test of stamina having won five of his last six over this trip in race
times that rival the best here so its not a stretch to see him running well.

4 Russian Whiskey, trained by Mb Stables
Dead heated with Swiss Bank Account in last years Marathon he has changed hands a few
times since but has now arrived at HRP’s top stable so must be in with a great chance of
a second grade two win of the season. He took the San Antonio on seasonal debut beating
none other than Hardline and A One which was top form for this race. He raced under a big
weight with a wide draw in the SA Handicap and was predictably beaten and then finished close
up but eighth in the CT Classic. At 7 years old you have to take his form on trust but there
is no reason to think he is on the decline.

5 Swiss bank Account, trained by Threshold
Dead Heated with Russian Whiskey in the Marathon last year but has struggled a bit since.
The four year olds are at a definite disadvantage at this time of year but of he can
reproduce the KEE form he is entitled to go close.

6 Tundra Kenny, trained by Australia Wide
Last years BC Turf winner his trainer switched him to the dirt after two disappointing runs
this year. His third in the CT Classic was top notch and proved he is just as good on this
surface and this trip will be right up his alley. This dual grade one winner would probably
start favourite on turf and he is right on the money on dirt too so he has a winners chance.

7 Look Into My Eyes, trained by Wolfs Den
A hopeful entry, he may be fighting for last place but as this is HRP he wont be more than a
few lengths behind at the end.

8 Taylors Eagle, trained by Harrell Racing
Has shown some remarkable improvement this year finishing third in both the Excelsior and the
Californian Stakes. the wide draw may just ruin his chances especially as an already on pace
type he will be shot int the lead but the wide speed push.

SUMMARY

This will be a tough race to win and i believe it will be between Tundra Kenny, Russian Whiskey
and Macht Nichts. I think the Eastern Equine charge may have the edge but look out for an outsider
to get into the money.
