Well, that one played out about the way we all saw it…  Maggie Greene is a classy mare and she showed the class in the lane at BEL today, taking The Noble Damsel (GIII) getting the mile in 1:32.76 on the firm turf.  The 6yo mare almost toyed with the group, tracking the pace to the top of the lane, then steadily pulling away to win as the best today.  Early pace setter Deep Atonement tried to make a race of it but had to settle for the second spot, a length better than Absolutely Creepy in third.  Strategic North was fourth with Dime Piece closing this one out.

Maggie Greene is a 6yo bay mare by Walkin Dead – Clear Rainbow, by Creative Officer, and she was bred by Team 7 Illusions in LA.  This was her fifteenth lifetime victory, while only her second of the season, the classy gal now shows lifetime earnings of $3,9080.830.  The Sidley Stud purchased her prior to her racing career for just $6.770, and she’s been nothing but a race mare since her first trip to the races.  Congrats to the connections!

Maggie Greene content to stalk the pace from just in behind the leader, moved up quickly through the far turn, took over with three-sixteenths to run, kept to task while no further threats.  Deep Atonement broke alertly, set the pace to the top of the lane, second best.  Absolutely Creepy saved ground in hand, some late interest, no threat to the top pair.  Strategic North trailed, best foot too late. Dime Piece mid-pack to the top of the lane, nothing left.
