SA Race #6 1m Turf Graded Stake
Purse $200.000 For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.
1 Stinky Rene TwinTowersRacing Beschizza A 123 —
Looking at her last five runs you have to wonder why she wasn’t the BC Turf Champion last November but the draw and closing in a big field create a unique problem at HRP and in the end she did well to be fifth. A double grade one winner prior to that and the winner of the Pegasus on seasonal debut she looks very hard to beat off this draw today.
2 Tabitha Stephens Mb Stables Saez L 123 —
Ran a brilliant race in the Pegasus on seasonal debut when just being nutted in the shadows of the post by Stinky Rene and running from this much better draw today she sets up an intriguing rematch. There wont be much between them again although I do like her running style to be more favored on this track over this trip.
3 Fiji Islands Threshold Jimenez A 123 —
I don’t know what the trainer was thinking throwing this filly into the mix, I guess they will find out very quickly whether she has any ability beyond what she has shown so far.
4 Painville Mo Mentum Farm Davila J R Jr 123 —
Just a half-length behind Stinky Rene and Tabitha Stephens in the Pegasus this is certainly a mouthwatering rematch between three of the top fillies and mares in the game at the moment. She of course was the BC Turf Champion from last year so Knows how to beat Stinky Rene and I certainly wouldn’t say she cannot reverse the placing from the Pegasus.
5 Wander Mb Stables Gutierrez Mario 123 —
Just to make this race even better we have this one who was sixth in the Pegasus just a length off her rivals and as the KD Ladies Turf winner from last year you could certainly see her turning the form upside down and let’s face it at HRP that happens more often than not. Working strongly since that run it would take a brave man to pick how this race will finish without this mare in the mix.
6 Favorite Sister Black N Gold Stable Dettori L 123 —
The winner of six from twelve and taking the Megahertz on seasonal debut in normal circumstances you would give this filly a chance at this level. This however features four huge talents, and she will have to improve a few lengths to get herself into the finish.
7 Omnibus High Voltage Hernandez R M 123 —
Has been behind Wander and Painville a few times in the recent past so does have something to find but isn’t more than a length or two behind the best so you never know. I guess there are two scenario’s that see her win, the outside speed push gets her the lead, and she beats them all while they worry about each other, or the pace is hot, and she goes way back and flies home wide. Chances are she won’t be far away, but a win would surprise.
SUMMARY
This is basically a Pegasus rematch and with only two lengths between them in that race the result in true HRP style will be up to the race engine rather than any form patterns.
Pick any combination of the 1,2 and 4 and you should get a run for your money.
