The Just A Game – GI
BEL Race 5 1M – Turf
Purse $700.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies And Mares
1st Mandy Mo, trained by Angelos Stable
Looks like nobody needed to worry about this filly switching to the turf and going a route of ground because she ran a hug race in here. She had been running so good in dirt sprints that I questioned if she get the route on the turf but she ran the race of her life. She won in 1:33.19 and earned $420.000.
2nd Ghost Runner, trained by Sizing Europe Lodge
The very classy mare tried to win this race from the lead and almost did that. She was on the lead almost all the way until where it counted the most but she still held off all the others to run a very game second. If she wouldn’t blast to the front so hard every time she may win a few more than she does.
3rd Peppermint Miss, trained by D J C Racing Stables
The entry from the wizard tried to come from far back to run a third place finish. She found herself six lengths back at one point and had to try and run down the too which she couldn’t do but she still ran very good. Not a bad race from her and look for her to improve next out when she runs for D J C Racing Stables for the second time.
4th Dee Vee R Star, trained by Wolfs Den
This filly also came from far back in the field to barely get up for a fourth place finish. She barely got up for fourth and that was a good thing because she doesn’t go home empty handed. Not a bad race at all from her and I am willing to bet she will run good in her next race also if she keeps improving.
Summary
Well in the preview we saw how stacked this field really was with all the graded stakes winners and graded stakes placed fillies and mares. Mandy Mo ended up winning this stacked edition of the Just A Game and she really ran one of the best races of her life. Congratulations to all of the connections.
