I don’t get a lot of “hey, why didn’t you pick me” messages, and when I do, it’s usually just a ribbin’ from one of the good guys…. well, when Max sends me an email, you had best pay attention.  His gray colt, Blazing has been running well and looked to be sitting on another big race… and while I didn’t put him in my top three, The Green Card had him right there… and, BANG! KABOOM!  The man called his shot… using a relentless closing kick down the outside of this oversize field, nothing was going to come between him and a Pegasus World Cup (GI) win, as the silver streak went under the wire in front by a half length, stopping the clock in 1:47.15 for the mile and an eighth over the GP main oval, listed as Fast.  I handed out the rest of the money winners as Berlin, who had the lead for much of the run down the lane, just couldn’t hold off the winner, handing The Sidley Stud the runner-up money, and then just another head to Mb Stables’ Lunar Victory in third.  It was another three-quarters of a length to last year’s winner, also from The Sidley Stud outfit, Spankersville in fourth.  Ten lengths covered the field of fourteen.
