Seven three year olds took to the GP track in hopes of winning the Carry Back Stakes. When they crossed the wire it was Mb trained horses taking first and second, leaving the rest of the field with scraps to carry back.
1st Place – Safe Investment (Mb Stables)
A Worst Case Scenario gelding who may like even more added distance, stalked close to the pace most of the race. Coming around the turn, Safe Investment easily took the lead and held it nicely through the finish line. Another stakes winning addition to Mb Stable, who is already rich in them, and we’ll watch to see if he gets More distance next start. Congrats to Mb on a quality win!
2nd Place – Sauna (Mb Stables)
Another by Mb, who would be a stakes winner if not for the stablemate. A Fire N Fury gelding, this one looks close to scoring a stakes victory and will be a betting favorite likely in a similar level next out.
3rd Place – Let’s Celebrate (Riggins Racing)
A horse that came in off a lengthy victory in a low level maiden but showed excellent heart. Closing well off, from 6 lengths back and dead last, to finish a nice 3rd behind the Dan Duo. Let’s Celebrate shower some talent and whether next out it is an attempt to add distance or keep closer to the pace, Let’s Celebrate is on the right track.
4th Place – Sunset Limited (Nynl Stables)
Rounding out our paid group is the early leader and pace setter. Like many before him, he was unable to hold the lead and faded to fourth, good enough at least to cash a check.
Congrats to all owners in a competitive race! And I look forward to see this group of three year olds back on the track!
