If ever there was a contradiction that draw wins races it was this race. The off track would have caused this however as there will be little doubt that someone set pace instructions on a rain affected track and those that played the conditions were those drawn widest. This is a real progressive sort who i was worried may find this trip too sharp going on his last effort but maybe i was reading too much into a computer game with that assessment and he was more than quick enough to keep up with the pace today on a wetter track. A son of Apples To Oranges he is notching an impressive record and looks the sort that could go on to be a TC contender.

2nd Tough Customer Mb Stables Garcia Mar

The trainer certainly seems to be back in form and that will please their many friends and supporters as we close in on the BC of 2022. First and second here and this one ran a very nice race from a tough draw suggesting he is better than his bar form suggested. He has run three good races on off tracks in a row now so it was be interesting to see if he can handle a better track if he eventually gets it.

3rd Hot Shark Arindel Gaffalione T

Closed in and looked to be going to win his race but flattened out inside the distance and looked like he didn’t handle the going. Not a bad effort but he still has a bit to prove at this level.

4th Apple Dumpling Gang Oquinn Farm Ferrer J C

He was thrown wider and wider round the turn but made ground until the effort proved too much and he floundered a little down the stretch. I liked this one before the race and i still like him feeling that a better draw and trip would’ve seen him much closer to the win.
