1 One Shot Johnny Nakamura Stables Castillo I 120 —

After winning his maiden at PID he has run two stinkers on turf, so the trainer brings him back to the dirt to try and get his career on track. His works are only fair but he does get the inside gate here, so he does have his chances if some of the more favored ones don’t perform.

2 Telegraph Road D J C Racing Stables Franco M 120 —

Won a decent maiden nicely over this trip before a decent run for second in a strong Allowance win last time. I like that sort of form for a race like this and he gets the perfect draw to do some damage.

3 Turbo Arindel Velazquez J R 120 —

Ran well enough in the Funnycide without really threatening which was disappointing after a game maiden win. I think ultimately this horse will go further than the six furlongs but his works at this trip are strong enough to give him a leading chance.

4 Western Dream South Shore Stables Luzzi L J 120 —

One of the more experienced runners, he has run with merit in his two ventures into stakes company and whilst he wouldn’t be the first choice on works and form his experience will count for something.

5 Captain Jackman Allinthegate Davis D 120 —

Probably the form choice for this and his works are strong enough to make him the favorite to win here. His two efforts in stakes company have both brought him a paycheck and whilst he may not be a world beater, he may just be the best here.

6 Tricky Step D J C Racing Stables Geroux F 120 —

In may have only been a FL maiden but he was very impressive last time and whilst Captain Jackman may be the best on form, he may have the best potential in this race. He has shown bags of pace in both his runs, and I would expect him to be on the front end for a long way today.

7 Gaslight Mb Stables Castellano J J 120 —

An Mb Stables maiden is no ordinary maiden and this one has the fastest works in the race despite never having won a race. In fairness that was his debut run so he will have come on for that and this could easily be yet another stakes race trophy for the champions cabinet.

8 El Gran Moon First Flight Stable Centeno D E 120 —

Ran well in the KY Juvenile before disappointing last time he is a difficult read for this race. He may burn himself out early from this wide draw.

9 Panic At The Disco Gdp Inc Del-Cid V 120 —

Another maiden but with two seconds and a third he won’t be a maiden for much longer. He has pace so may use the wide gate speed push to get in front here and he could easily be in the first three.

SUMMARY

Gaslight could well be a leading light in the stable if he breaks his maiden today and he really does look like the right type to do exactly that. I will be boxing him with Tricky Step and Captain Jackman for the Trifecta.
