If you mashed The Card and my picks together, you walked away with a handsome $1,004.70 tri… nice!  Sometimes, I wonder why we run the TC prep races, other than to let Mb Stables sort out the monsters in their barn… again, The Big Barn gets the job done as Banned closes from near the back of the pack to take Saturday’s TAM Derby (GIII) by a quarter length, covering the mile and a sixteenth in 1:41.51, over the Fast main oval, here in Oldsmar.  The bay colt by Censored, out of Inevitable by Compress bounced back from a trio of less-than-wonderful starts but certainly proved that distance is in fact his friend… and he may want more of it, and that could be bad if he gets to the gate in Louisville, that first Saturday in May.  Congrats to the connections!

Nakamura Stables takes home the second-place money as Travis Mathew stays up-close throughout but just cannot get to the winner at the wire but also earns a few all-important KYD points in the process.  Riggins Racing’s Brooklyn Bash, the post time favorite, pressed the pace throughout but just could find enough late, settling for the third spot, and a head back to fourth where TwinTowersRacing’s Turning Point grabbed the minor share of the purse.  Only four lengths covered the field of twelve, and our only scratch was the AE, Winds of Opus.
