Bison City Stakes
WO Race #7 1 1/16m Dirt Stake
Purse $250.000 For Fillies Three Years Old Foaled In Canada.
Its always a bit of a shame when you see 12 runners battle it out for 100 bucks in a graded stakes and then you see these types of races with a small field and fairly soft fields. That though is the blight of a state bred system that has so few stables spread across so many states so lets take a look and see if there is some value to be had from the 5 runners.
1 Miss Flora Nakamura Stables Hernandez R M
She won the Bourbonette Oaks on a rain affected track and since has won an optional claimer on a muddy track suggesting she may just prefer some moisture to bring out her best. I wouldn’t e over keen on her on what we have seen so far but a 1.36 and 4 work after her last win suggests the Nak Factor is in play and there could be some improvement found from somewhere.
2 Very Brady Maletto Bravo J
Ran nicely in the Forward Gal when fourth by failed from a wide gate in the Davona Dale next up. With a good draw today we can forget that effort as just one of those things that happens at HRP and she has been much better since winning a decent sprint allowance before a fair effort in the WO Oaks again from a wide draw. I expect a good run from this two gate today.
3 Win In Doubt Team 7 Illusions Bejarano R
The winner of a little FE maiden in the mud last time out again from anyone else i would say this one has no chance but Team 7 Illusions often throws this type of filly in the deep end and comes up smelling of roses. On this occasion though i can’t make a good case for her.
4 Broadway Stripes Glorify Stables Stein J
Possibly the best filly in the race going on her last three efforts and a recent 1.36 and 3 work for the dirt mile. She was very strong in the Fury Stakes and then stepped up on that effort with a similarly game win in the WO Oaks. She is certainly a filly in form but she has enjoyed some easy draws and gets a tougher gate today so she is by no means a definite winner.
5 Reminisce Mb Stables Court J K
The leading stable sends the leading filly into this race but a wide draw will make the result much less obvious than it would look if she was drawn 1 or 2. She won the FL Oaks back in March and has since runs three nice races in good stakes race so you would have to like her chances with a little proviso on the draw.
SUMMARY
This should be between Reminisce and Broadway Stripes as long as the race engine doesn’t beat them up with the wider draws. One of them should get the trip if the other one doesn’t though so i will stick with these two in any order.
