Three Year Olds and Up
1st Moon Landing, trained by Mb Stables
The old class horse also makes me kind of look smart with his big win in here as he came from way back to fly up and grab the win. He shows up every single time and I knew the seven furlongs would be good for him. He is just an old class gelding that does his job every time. He went 1:21.56 and earned $210.000 for the win.
2nd Diplomatic Moon, trained by Gdp Inc
A very shocking run from this horse to me as I thought he was outclassed off of his statebred stakes win last out. He stalked the pace and ran very well to be the runner up in here and really surprised me with how good he ran in here. Maybe he is improving off of that win and will be tough the rest of the year.
3rd Red Matic, trained by Witeout Stables
Finally a pace that was quick enough for him to close into a little bit came up in here. He was way back like usual and actually came with a pretty good charge down the lane and ended up only getting beat three quarters of a length for the whole thing. He ran good but always needs pace to run into.
4th Psychotic Ruler, trained by D J C Racing Stables
This wizard trained runner ran pretty good too to get fourth in here with his sort of stalking trip. He ran the exact same way last time at CD so maybe he just likes to just sit about three or four off the leaders and make a little run at them. If he had more of a kick he might have won the race actually.
Summary
Well the old classy gelding shows up again to earn his way into the Breeders Cup Sprint field with the win in here. The seven furlongs is a really good distance for him I think as it gives him enough time to catch the leaders. Congratulations to Mb Stables on the win and the classy gelding Moon Landing.
