Dead heats here, dead heats there, dead heats everywhere, just like real life racing.  So the Muniz Memorial Hcp (GII) ended up with two winners as Smokey Stover’s Hammerfest, Mb Stables’ Prom King ended in a virtual tie.  There was another dead-heat for ninth, while unimportant, also uncalled-for.  But let’s get back to the good stuff, two big barns taking the lion’s share of the $300.000 purse, as they got the mile and an eighth in 1:44.60, over the Firm turf, here at FG.  It was another three-quarters of a length back to Atomic Eclipse in third, setting off some big payoffs.  Lord City was another neck back in fourth, as eight lengths covered the field in this race.  Congrats to the winners.
