Three Year Olds Fillies
A field of eight three year old filly turf runners have been entered up for this years running of the grade two Appalachian here over the Keeneland turf course. Some very good fillies have entered up including the winner of last years Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Fillies. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Easier Said (6-2-2-1 $160.080), trained by Mb Stables
And the first runner in the field right here is a filly who is coming off of a win in the grade three Herecomesthebride Stakes at Gulfstream Park. That was the best race of her career thus far and I think if she improved off of that she will have a pretty decent chance of winning in here.
2. Call Craze (9-3-2-2 $354.160), trained by Alydar Stables
The next filly in the field is the third place finisher from last year’s Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She ran a very good race that day but just has not been able to replicate that race. She has two fifths since then granted one was ok the dirt. She will need to find her form from last year to win here.
3. Cest And Me (8-3-0-1 $214.400), trained by D J C Racing Stables
Probably the most speediest horse in the field right as this filly almost always shows very early speed. Last year it worked pretty good for her but it hasn’t been able to get her to the winners circle lately. If she gets to the front she will have to see how long her speed can take her.
4. Lit Up By The French (6-4-1-0 $72.320), trained by Maxmillion Farm
And now this filly right here is on a roll right here. She has won her last four races in a row. She ha sbeen climbing through the class levels and is finally getting tested in here. I don’t know if she is good enough to win this race but she is showing signs that she is but this is her first test against this competition.
5. Illustrious Cat (7-3-0-1 $172.020), trained by Chili King Stables
Next runner right here is coming out of the grade three Florida Oaks where she ran third to the filly on here outside. She did not run too bad at all that day but she ran into a buzzsaw for sure that day. She needed to improve big time off of that last race to win.
6. Na Pali (6-5-1-0 $926.400), trained by Smokey Stover
Last year’s Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner right here and she is a force to be reckoned with jo doubt. She won the grade three Florida Oaks in here last start at Tampa Bay so she is coming into this race in good form. She is my top pick and she will be very tough to beat.
7. Diluted (7-3-2-0 $171.200), trained by Aer Stables
And once again we come across a graded stakes winner right here. This filly is coming off of a win in the grade three Sweetest Chant at Gulfstream Park. She is a pretty talented filly for sure and I think she fits in with this field nicely. She will have to run a big one but she has a chance for sure.
8. Xtra Hot (5-1-0-0 $42.160), trained by Gdp Inc
Our last and final runner we come to right here is definitely the least accomplished in the field. She only has a maiden win to her name so far. She did run fourth in the Herecomesthebride Stakes in her last start but she will need to run a whole lot better to win this spot.
Summary
This race looks to be very exciting to me for sure and most of them I think at least stand a chance at winning. Obviously the strongest contender in here is Na Pali but some of these could upset her if they run big races. Good luck to all in the field.
