Nazca Lines Shows Her Class in Raven Run

Raven Run – Grade II
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $350.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.

1st Nazca Lines Delta Farms Pennington F

This win qualifies this filly for the BC Fillies and Mares Sprint and the trainer will have to make a choice between a two week turn round or a rest and some of the late season prizes on offer. It is not an easy choice but there aren’t many examples of quick turnarounds paying dividends at the BC and a quick run could well knock her out for the rest of the season. The trainer, however, is not a newbie and will have a plan and after this performance will certainly be smiling again after she lost her form through mid-season. Running her normal running style, she was always going well and timed her run perfectly to win with a bit in hand.

2nd Madam Dime Asgar Lopez P

Came with a strong run at the end but in a race with many closers there can only be one that gets the timing right and this one didn’t. In fairness she was beaten by a horse that on her day is one of the best fillies in training, so she lost nothing in defeat and her trainer faces a similar problem with the BC Fillies and Mares Sprint as Delta Farms as she probably has enough points to make the field.

3rd Upstream La Canada Racehorses Bridgmohan S X

Got a nice stalk and looked to be going on with it down the stretch but in the end was passed by the closers and ended up third. This will help pay back a few cents of her asking price at the auction and she at least beat her old stable mate.

4th Star Sapphire Fractious Prat F

Suffered the race engine coming from far too far back to end up fourth but this was a big effort from where she was at halfway and she looks to have a future if she can find an AI that helps her stay just a bit closer through the early stages.
