$350.000 3yo&Up 6f Dirt 3yo 121lbs Older 124lbs
How close was Friday’s Phoenix (GII) at KEE?? How about seven horses within a length… how about the entire field covered by four lengths? Yeah, it was close… but when the dust settled in this six-furlong dash, John Henry walked away with the king’s cut of the purse with Neon Delite getting the job done by a head, while stopping the timer at 1:08.66 over the fast main oval, here in Lexington. It remained tight as Ajm Stables’ Tetris closed a late gap to nose out another fast closer Crush Rush, from the Maxmillion Farm outfit, by the narrowest of margins for second and third, then another head to Mo Mentum Farms Everest, who did most of the heavy lifting, tiring to be fourth. This was the second time that John Henry has won this important sprint… they took the 2019 running with Di Bug.
