About the only thing we got right in Saturday’s New Orleans Hcp (GII) was the name of the race…  but it was just as close as we expected it to be and Angelos Stable‘s Jolly Rook stayed closed to the pace and just absolutely wore down a host of foes to go under the wire in front by a head, stopping the clock in a snappy 1:47.01 over the Fast main track.  East Of Creep showed good inside speed, stuck his nose in front for a brief second, and continued on well for the second spot.  Quality Art did all of the heavy lifting but was headed and outkicked to the wire, a neck behind the winner.  Money Truck, dismissed at 99/1 odds closed from far back to gain the minor money.  Only seven lengths covered the field of eleven.
