She won half of her six seasonal starts as a freshman, and the only real clunker was in the Frizette (GI) and she set the pace into the lane that day, so you still have to tip-your-cap to her tactical speed in that one. There’s a ton of speed in here today so her running style may have to change or she could be part of a suicide speed duel.
Talk about speed to spare… and did she ever show it last out at Tampa taking the Sandpiper by three while just running that group into the ground. She was in front by 6-7 lengths in that one and didn’t need much to get the win that afternoon. She’s won at a mile, so that distance should fit her but will the speed duel develop?
Looked special last out breaking her maiden at LA… in wire to wire fashion. Like we needed any more speed, here’s another that seems to do her best work when getting to the front end. She doesn’t show any am gallops since that win on the left coast, so I’m just not sure what to make of her right now.
Broke maiden here last out and has the advantage of a win over the inner dirt here in NY. She closed well that afternoon and also in the Matron (GII) where she ended up fifth while still a non-winner. The barn obviously like her, and I think she has a chance to get the job done as well.
Never off of the board in three starts and two of those were here at AQU. Closed well to be 3rd v. Alw horses over the inner dirt in her most recent trip to the gate. She seems to want a bigger piece of ground to run so this race could show her best, and she may have some odds. I think she has a shot at this.
Just missed to be 2nd in The East View while facing NY-breds at the distance and over the inner dirt. She had the lead that afternoon but couldn’t find her way to the winner’s circle – and that seems to be the story here – she’s always close but never seems to take the top prize. Can she change that here?
Got a bit of a vacation after back-to-back third-place finishes on the left coast at DMR. She shows a nice string of works here at AQU so it looks like they were aiming at this one for her return to the races. She’s fresh and has a nice late turn of foot and that can be dangerous.
Faltered on the wet turf at DMR in her last start of ’15 when last of seven in the Durant (GIII). I think she’s better than that and I like the move back to the dirt side of things. The distance is my big question mark, but I guess we see how that plays out today.
Won (DH) at SA on the return to the races after being purchased at the Dec 15 Auction for $38.000. She’s only missed the board one time in her career at that was v. Graded horses at CD. She was only beaten two lengths in that one, so you can tell she has some ability.
Got the job done in her final start of ’15, taking the Trapeze at RP in a game effort. She shows a string of works over this track so they seem to be aiming at this one for her first start of the ’16 season. I don’t like her post but that’s about the only thing I can find to nick on her about.
