Bounce back indeed… Slickmoment Laga chucked a bad race in the Honeybee (GIII) at OP, but some horses just can’t stand the tight turns down there… and evidently she’s one of them.  Get in front and improve position from there… something I’m sure Night Rider Stables has heard in his RL occupation, and just what this filly tried to do on a huge stage, going wire to wire to take the SA Oaks (GII) by a head in a final time of 1:42 for the mile and a sixteenth.  Shes A Super Freak tracked the pace and tried to wear the winner down late, but just missed ending up a head back in second.  Modesta came from well back, closing fast to be third, with post time favorite Feral Impact ending up fourth. 

Slickmoment Laga is a 3yo bay filly by Moment Of Madness – Slick And Quick, by Handsome Stallion, and she was bred by Lagastable in Cal.  Acquired by Private Purchase for $30.000 back in Oct of her 2yo season, the good looking filly now has three wins from six starts and earnings of $375.000.

Slckmoment Laga broke alertly, led throughout, hung on late, won driving.  Shes A Super Freak tracked the pace to the furlong marker, let out, gaining, narrow miss.  Modesta rated back off of the pace, responded too late, full of run to the wire.  Feral Impact away well, tracked the pace, evenly late.  Rose Thorn was outrun for much of the race, some late action.  Dan Patch raced evenly while no threat.  Mayflower away well, chased the leader to the top of the lane, folded.  Silver Cobra was never involved, outrun.  Train In Vain flashed some early speed, stopped.
