The Sleepy Hollow-NG
BEL Race 8 1M- Dirt
Purse $250.000
Two Year Olds NY Breds
A group of nine two year old New York bred colts and geldings are going to be lining up here on the giant Belmont oval for a very big purse for statebred races. There are some very good horses in this field and it going to be a good race for sure. Let’s take a look at this pretty nice field.
1. Texas Flood (4-1-1-0 $33.480), trained by D J C Racing Stables
This runner from D J C Racing Stables is definitely is coming into this race off of a maiden special weight at Parx where he won by two lengths. He is a very fast worker and he won pretty impressively in his maiden breaker. I definitely think this horse has a very legitimate chance to win.
2. Twisted Bay (3-1-0-1 $48.880), trained by Mb Stables
Another horse who is going to be going to be pretty live I think and he is coming into this race off of a quarter length win in a maiden special weight going this same distance over this same track. He has improved every out and if he has improved some more he can definitely have a chance.
3. Hollywood Fairy Tale (4-1-0-0 $34.200), trained by Estero Farms
Now this horse right here just got beat in the grade one Del Mar Futurity pretty soundly by three lengths. The race before that thought he ran fourth in the grade three Sanford at Saratoga. He closed from way back that day and was up close last time. I think he needs to come from way back to have a chance.
4. Be One (2-1-0-0 $21.600), trained by Gdp Inc
The one of the four that Gdp Inc but this is the one that he kept. He is coming off of a maiden breaking score in a maiden special weight at Monmouth last out. That was going this same distance and he definitely improved with the route of ground. I think he has a shot in this race for sure.
5. Di Bug (4-3-0-0 $96.000), trained by Night Rider Stables
Well at the looks of it right now this was a very good claim for twenty five dollars because for his first start for his new trainer Night Rider Stables he won a New York bred stake race at Finger Lakes. This will be first race going this far and it’s a question mark as to whether he will like the distance.
6. Ete Valar (3-3-0-0 $42.780), trained by Alabarda Stable
The final one we come across that was bred by Gdp Inc and this one is also coming off of a barn change because he got claimed for twenty bucks last out. He’s won all three of his starts but he definitely hasn’t been against this type of competition and he hasn’t been this far of a distance yet either.
7. Four Grand (4-1-1-1 $40.600), trained by Mb Stables
The second runner from Mb Stables and this is another pretty solid horse right here. He broke his maiden two back and then just ran third in a statebred stakes race here at Belmont. It’ll be his first time past seven furlongs but I don’t think the extra furlong will hurt him at all by the looks of it.
8. Midnight Ride (3-1-0-0 $90.000), trained by Night Rider Stables
And now the second runner from Night Rider Stables and he just broke his maiden last out in a statebred stakes race here at Belmont against the horse to his inside. I do think it was the extra distance and I think he is going to like this extra furlong pretty good. He is one of my top selections in here.
9. Team Freak (2-1-1-0 $16.200), trained by Aer Stables
This horse from Aer Stables is very lightly raced so far in his career with only two races and his first out was a win and then he ran second in his last out in an allowance at Finger Lakes against New York breds. He had a good work the other day and maybe he will be up to the task in this race.
Summary
Well I am definitely thinking this going to be a good race and there is some very promising horses in this field. I think my top choice is going to be Di Bug with Midnight Ride right behind him. Those two are both stakes winners and they both look pretty tough. Good luck to all in the race.
