The big day of racing at GP continues and we look at a field of nine turf specialists, set to go a flat mile in The Appleton.  Only one of these picks up the penalty for winning a race, and he will be the probable post time favorite, if I had to guess.   Noble Thoughts has been on a roll of late, winning his last two starts of ’24, including the AQU Turf Sprint Championship, then an OptAlw over this track, and similar at SA.  If he can repeat any of those efforts, it should be enough to win here.  Whipped will be my second choice, that one changing hands via the Smokey Stover dispersal sale, and this is a sharp outfit.  He ran a big race on the main track at a shorter distance, and I’m sure he needed that race.  I think he will enjoy the mile distance, and I think turf is really his surface of choice… he could be tough.  The Card went it a different direct… and I think that speaks to just how wide open this race really is.
